Plant protection and quarantine (BA)

The tasks of the professional activity of plant protection and quarantine specialists include:

• control over the phytosanitary condition of agricultural crops;
• development and application of an integrated plant protection system aimed at ensuring the phytosanitary stability of agroecosystems, their resistance to biotic stresses;
• prevention of emergencies and losses of crop production from pests, diseases and weeds that retard the growth and development of plants and, thereby, reduce their productivity or even lead to death;
• protection of the country’s territory from the penetration of quarantine objects (particularly dangerous pests, diseases and weeds) and the elimination of centers of their occurrence).
